Teething in Babies: Signs, Treatment, and Free Downloadable Teething Chart

Kerry explains that the experience of teething is different for your child. “They may show some common signs and symptoms, but not all.”

“Then, it’s about responding to your baby’s specific signals and needs. You know your baby best.”

It’s not a straight, linear process either. Carey explains that as your teeth grow, there will be ups and downs.

“In the early stages, your baby will probably have a more noticeable reaction to the teething experience.”

“Then, as it becomes a known feeling or sensation and you learn what helps calm them down, it will be easier for your child to cope.”

However, just when you think you’ve gotten over it, the discomfort may return.

“When you think about the size of the back teeth (molars) that come in later, they will seem larger and different to a smaller mouth.

“So you may find that after the initial teething comes out, it may feel like you’ve regressed,” says Carey.
